In 2022, King Solomon School successfully raised funds to bring clean water to Nanungu village in Malawi and as a result, 2,128 people now have access to clean water!!During our trip we visited Mchema Primary School which has over 1,200 students who are in desperate need of assistance. The students at Mchema Primary School are struggling to access the education they deserve as the facilities are inadequate and hundreds of students are forced to study on the floor or outside sitting on rocks as there are not enough desks or classrooms. Crucially, the students are forced to study at night using the light of candles or kerosene lamps which is expensive and unhealthy.
Our goal this year is to change their reality and allow these students to see light through a light bulb for the first time.
Please help us to fundraise $18,000 to bring solar energy to the entire school and the homes of the teachers. This can be made possible with a donation of $15 per student. Moreover, we would like to try and provide the school with 80 desks at a cost of $55 per desk for 3 students and maybe continue to fundraise to build a classroom for students who sit outside for their lessons, for a cost of $15,000 per classroom! You can be a part of bring positive change to these students! The top 5 students who will raise the most money will have a greater chance to travel with us to the school to turn on the classroom lights for the first time!
Below are ways in which you can donate to this wonderful cause:
- $55 - Provide one desk that can be used by 3 students (80 total required- Total: $4,400)
- $15- Provide light to each student and provide light to the staff homes (Total $15*1,200 students = $18,000)
- Raise funds to build a classroom for up to 100 students at $15,000 per classroom and get the opportunity to name the classroom!
