In 2022, King Solomon School successfully raised funds to bring clean water to Nanungu village in Malawi, and as a result, 2,128 people now have access to clean water!! During our visit, we witnessed the urgent needs of Mchema Primary School, where over 1,200 students lack proper facilities and study on the floor or outside sitting on rocks due to the lack of desks and classrooms. Crucially, these students rely on expensive and unhealthy lighting sources like candles and kerosene lamps to be able to study at night.
Our goal this year is to change their reality and allow these students to see light through a light bulb for the first time.
With your support, we will be able to bring solar energy to the entire school and teachers' homes. As part of this campaign, we aim to raise $18,000, equivalent to $15 per student, to make this possible. Additionally, we hope to provide 80 desks at $55 each (for 3 students) and fundraise $15,000 per classroom to accommodate those studying outside.
Join us in making a positive impact on these student's lives! The top 5 fundraisers will have the opportunity to travel with us and be part of the special moment when we turn on the classroom lights for the first time.
Below are ways in which you can donate to this wonderful cause:
- $55 - Provide one desk that can be used by 3 students (80 total required- Total: $4,400)
- $15- Provide light to each student and provide light to the staff homes (Total $15*1,200 students = $18,000)
- Raise funds to build a classroom for up to 100 students at $15,000 per classroom and get the opportunity to name the classroom!
